In addition to the watercolor values, we had to draw three cones and three spheres to practice values with colored pencils. We were to use white and three colors of our choice on each shape. I think I did a pretty good job, but I think shapes I have drawn using Prismacolor before turned out better.

I think stippling is the best technique for value because I can start of lightly and add more and more values. If I accidently shaded too deeply with hatching in pen, I would not be able to erase it.
2. I used perspective to get a clear view of the front and underside of the plane. Perspective is important because it allows the artist to make a visually pleasing picture. 3. I used different techniques to try to show different textures and surfaces. I used stippling on the plane while using hatching on the dresser that the plane was sitting on. Showing different textures makes surfaces and objects clearer to the viewer, as well as adding variety and appeal. 4. Value is important because it clearly shows where the light is coming from and what it is focused on. 5. I think the picture looks pretty good. I found that stippling shows values well, but takes a lot of time applying. I still struggled with the proportions, even after drawing straight lines to mark where certain parts of the plane were to be drawn. I think the most difficult part of sketching was drawing the front turret correctly. It appears a lot taller than on my actual model plane. 6. I would add my values more carefully. Although stippling added lots of value, I think applying them more neatly rather than hastily would make the plane look more pleasing. I also think neater values would've given the plane's fuselage a more cylindrical look, more accurate to a real plane. 8. It is important to know proper techniques to make the most visually appealing picture. Applying techniques sloppily or incorrectly will make a picture look rushed or poorly made. Even when using utensils other than pens, proper techniques will bring out a lot of value in art. 9. I think that by experiencing different value techniques, I will be able to make values in future projects stand out significantly as well as showing different textures. This is another in-progress picture of my pen drawing. I am almost done with the pencil parts and have started adding some ink. I had some difficulty getting the proportions correct, even when using straight lines. I had the most trouble on the front turret. I think it looks a little too big, even after I tried to make it look accurate to the reference photo.
