The pictures above are my painting for this unit, and the pictures below are warm-ups I found helpful. This is based on a picture I took of the pumpkin near the steps up to the front door of my house, which my family will use for Halloween. I used three point perspective for this piece. As I have stated before, my greatest struggle was getting the colors just right. I needed to change them up a bit, which made them somewhat different compared to the original photo. The warm-ups helped with drawing the piece by pencil first, and it helped me get used to painting more carefully.

During the watercolor project, i found the sunset painting we did to be most helpful, as it got me used to having to paint extra carefully to prevent unintentionally mixing colors. One thing I like about watercolor is that it brought back great memories from my childhood, as I enjoyed art a lot as a kid, even though I was not very good at it. I had a lot of difficulty getting the colors just right for certain parts of the painting, as they needed to match what I chose to draw, which made me have to change the colors some parts, making it less accurate.
The pictures above are a painting of my house, and the picture below is the warm up that helped me out with the shading. My house is not important just because I live there, but because it is my first house. Before I moved into it, I lived in a multiple apartments. I've never had a major issue living here, it truly is a fantastic house.
For the painting, it was difficult to get the exact colors I needed for certain aspects, but painting the house and surrounding elements was a much more fun. I started by drawing everything in pencil, so that I could have an easier time painting it, then I spent time mixing colors and painting with them. If I felt like I made a mistake, all I had to do was wait for the paint to dry, and then paint over it. I have found painting to be more difficult than I anticipated. Despite that, i have found that learning how to effectively mix colors have helped me paint better. I think i have learned the most from learning tints, shades, and tones. I had to mix different shades of multiple colors in order to make my painting look better.
In order to make brown, mix two colors on opposite sides of the color spectrum, such as red and green. In order to tone down a color, mix it with gray.
